In a short sharp tender process during which GMS was quickly shortlisted we proposed a large scale mural for a new cultural building in the St Johns area of Manchester. The mural consists of cut plates which face varied directions based on our algorithmic inputs and the developed concept of movement in the surface.
The design integrates lighting from specialists Applelec which brings additional character and depth to this iconic artwork both during the day and particularly at night, when it would act as a beacon to the wider community, representing place, creativity and artistic architectural intervention.
